Colt restructured their debt recently......the company is dead and forgot to lay down. They need to move to a non union state and stop depending on government contracts. Maybe bring bakc the Python. Company is in bad shape with executives cashing out.

This is an interesting read about the sad state of affairs at Colt, and what they COULD but WON'T do to turn things around. Read the comments...especially the one by the guy who works in the industry...

Colt is KAPUT.

Colt has been mismanaged from way back, sad to see the latest round of owners have sucked the life/money out of the company and left it out to dry ... :(

Chapter 11 is reorganization as opposed to Chapter 7..Colt is going nowhere. Someone wither buys them out or they renegotiate with lenders. The govt will most likely have to bail them out for parts they have to buy. Either way they will be around for a long time.

Bob, your definition of "company" and my definition of "company" are obviously two different definitions.

Maybe you should have stated that the name will be around for a long time.

Definitely not a place to be working right now knowing the owners are just looking for the next cash infusion to suck up .... sad situation :( indeed !!

So don't sell my Python?

Hell no. I gave one to one of my uncles way back...he died and his daughter cannot find it.

So don't sell my Python?

Good question. They're worth a LOT right now, The Walking Dead TV show drove demand through the roof in recent years. The big question is do they keep going up in value or does the bubble on them burst as the old timers who actually appreciate what they are die off.

If I had a gun worth anywhere from 2.5-5K I'd be hard pressed not to cash in.

I was was thinking Soros and Blomberg would buy Colt. And end all production for good.
