A lawsuit can go forward against the maker of the rifle used in the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings, a judge ruled Thursday.

Superior Court Judge Barbara Bellis said that a 2005 federal law protecting gun-makers from lawsuits does not prevent lawyers for the victims' families from arguing that the semi-automatic rifle is a military weapon and should not have been sold to civilians.

Reason #1 why ANY Republican is better than a Democrap in the upcoming election. I have my issues with The Donald, but I'll hold my nose and pull the lever for him in a heartbeat to keep the Hildebeast out of the White House.

The Democraps will use the judiciary to accomplish their anti-gun agenda, and the longer they are appointing Federal judges, the worse things will get. We could lose up to 4 Supremes in the next 4 years to retirement or death by natural causes.

That's BS, I want to start seeing auto makers and alcohol producers get the same treatment when somebody uses their products and kills someone.

This is more fallout from the rabid liberalism that infects the government and courts. It's crap.

When has that ever stopped them?

Congress also passed the "Defense of Marriage Act".

With a quick look, it looks like this: Plaintiff filed an action in state court, the action was removed to federal court, probably citing the size of the claim and diversity of the parties. The feds sent the case back by remand to state court. Now, this is an interesting move. Defendants usually do better in federal court.

The protection addresses just the sale and the misuse or criminal activities. The state court found apparently that the action, alleging the BS that it was a military weapon etc. did not fall under the protection just by analysis of the actual language.

It was just a denial of a motion to dismiss, a very preliminary part of the litigation. Take the tinfoil hats off, we're safe for a little bit.
