I was at the range today to check on new trijicon sights for my Usp and fired off some rounds. The lane next to me sounded like a cannon being fired so I stopped to see what he was shooting. I've never seen one but it was a new Coonan 357mag. He let me shoot a clip, that gun shot great, not much more kick than my 45, and it looks like a 1911 but the MSH is shaped different. Interesting gun for sure, anyone know anything about these?

Never shot one but did see one live and in person last weekend at work. A guy came into the range to shoot and had a bunch of pistols in a hard, multiple gun, "suitcase". He had a separate, single gun pistol case and I asked him what he had in there. I figured it was something special since it was all by its lonesome. He grinned and said "check this out".

It was a neat pistol. Had some heft to it. I didn't ask to shoot it but I could sure tell when he was shooting it, compared to what the other people were toting.

I think that they were made years ago then production stopped. They were recently brought back I think in 2011!!

Supposed to be a pretty good handgun.:)

I talked to the same guy last nite, and he said he also has a Cadet model, which is like a Commander size. He said he'd bought it new back when it was in production, and had it ported. He also said he'd part with it, although the price might be a little high from what I could find on the 'net. He said he'd take $1700. It has "he said" only 200 rds thru it and then he put it up. I haven't seen the gun, just his comments to me.

The trigger didn't bother me but the MSH is longer so reaching the trigger is a different feel than other 1911. A heck of a cool gun though. Not sure how easy to CCO the gun but a Comander size would help. I'd like to add one to my family.

Does look like it would be a long trigger reach for someone with small hands. Pistol looks good, though

To me it was a longer reach and I have small to average handsize. It wasn't uncomfortable, just longer reach not like a .45 1911. Cool gun for sure.
