Another little program I wrote one evening when I was bored.

This one computes the amount and direction of movement required for iron sights to hit point of aim. Math works out for both pistols and rifles.

Overall screen shot without any entered data.

Sight correction calculation entered for a AK-47. Type of sight selected, parameters entered and calculate button pressed.

Same calculation, but allowing for an elevation adjustable rear sight.

Program runs on Windows 7, 8, and 10. Should work on Windows XP provided you have the latest updates. If there is enough interest/perceived value, I might make a version for the Android phones.

Free to use and share. Does NOT need an internet connection to work.

Feedback is always welcomed.

Nice Mike! Thanks you. Now, please code it for a real computer, like a Mac? hahahaha. Kiddin'. An android version would be very useful to me, just sayin...

Good job sir!

Looking at doing this one for Android, because it is more "range friendly". The Android APK libraries are open source (free). Haven't found free libraries or a compiler for IOS yet.

Been through this already. I had an Android app I wanted to port to IOS. If you want to develop for IOS, Apple isn't satisfied with just a pound of flesh, they demand your first born too. The development tools ONLY run in OSX.

I refuse to be strongarmed like that.

Android, on the other hand...

You can even get Android development platforms that run on Android (I developed a commercial app using AIDE on an Android tablet). There are any number of FREE Android development environments for Windows, OSX, and Linux - Eclipse being the most popular.

XCode is free and, yes, it runs on Macs. I primarily used my MacBook Pro anymore.

You could use Php and do it as a webpage then both platforms could use it.
