I read GD2A's post on the .45 the other day with great interest. Today I happened to run into this Colion Noir video while surfing YouTube:

"People who carry .45 are like the Scientologists of the gun world." C.N. :D

Actually I too carry a variety of calibers. Summer months I carry smaller guns like 380. Church and such also gets the 380. Winter months when wearing heaver clothing I carry a 45. Depends on situation more than desire for me.

Desire would be to carry a rifle everywhere but that probably isn't so practical.

Capacity Compulsive Disorder (CCD). I think I have that!!!

Additional points to ponder (because I am not too busy today, and bored as heck): "Does a .45 bullet make a bigger hole than two 9mm bullets?; which 'lets the bad out faster'?; what if the .45, with all its 'knock down power' doesn't actually knock the BG down??? What then?

The .45 ACP was perfected in 1905, the 9mm was invented by Georg Luger, and introduced in 1902. Are both of these rounds too old to be effective? They are over 100 years old and probably tired and worn out. Have the millennials come up with something better, more hip, more cynical and 'ironic' (most millennials don't really know what irony is - they just think they do).

Anyway, I'm really rambling and derailing my own thread. I think I'll stop now.

I carry a nine in a small pistol when the back's out, or a standard sized one I feel the need for a hi-cap.

Other than that; I carry a .45.

Personally, I carry a 45. Because I choose to. And as much as I shoot, I doubt I would miss! I target shoot constantly with a 45.
That said, Any gun is better than no gun. I say carry what you want to carry. But... CARRY! http://www.cotep.org/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif Even if it's a .22!

Though I would not carry a .22. They are Deadly. Many a Deer has been killed with one! Shot placement! If it'll kill a deer, it'll kill a human!

Deadly, yes...but will he die before he kills YOU? Like the Moros in the Phillipines hacking soldiers to death with machetes after being "shot through and through" with the Colt 38...and THEN dying. Which is WHY we went to the 45 ACP.
