I’m not a big fan of the frames on Glocks, they just don’t work for me and my hands. When I found out about Polymer80 lowers, I was intrigued. So, I bought two(in case I @&$” one up, lol) and began my build/s. I shot one today and it was flawless. The second one is not complete but, I threw on Holoson mini red dot (because why not). Didn’t have a chance to shoot this one yet.

Anywho, here are some pics.......I know that’s what you want, lol.

Flaming hot! I love me the glock systems. Those are awesome brother! The glock fans here are on a very small island

please, tell us more about the work involved in the 80% lower. What type of tooling do you need? Are there jigs that need to be bought? I'd like to build my own, simply because I can!

No special tools needed, just regular items you probably already have in your tool box. The kit comes with the jig and some drill press bits but, I did not use a press (simply because I dont have one and it’s not needed).

YouTube is your friend with these...... good step by step on there (if they haven’t been removed by the nazis).

I used a small flat file, hobby knife (box blade works well also), a pair of dykes, 400 and 1000 grit sandpaper, a cordless drill, and a lot of patience. TAKE YOUR TIME, you can easily mess up the project if you rush.

It’s easy, trust me. The jig shows you where to trim and drill. You can mark the areas with a marker if you’d like but, not needed.

being the prudent one in my family, I did a bit of cost analysis.

Complete 9mm upper for a G19: $379 at "something" tactical, one off of Wolf Barrels
Lower parts kit from Brownell's: $49
Polymer 80: $160

$580

New Glock: $509 at Budsgunshop.

Makes a world of difference IF your hand doesn't fit the OEM grips tho. I might still build one, but mostly for the honor of having no serial number. Everyone should have one that gummint don't know about.

Oh and btw... I am also a two glock owner. G19 gen2 and a G21SF gen3. Like them both. They would be my first choice bugout firearms.

Yep, if the OEM works for you then it’s only for those that like to tinker (myself). It’s a fun project and you can go wild or go mild, plenty of choices.

Yes. I have two that are modified. But I like the factory receiver so my uppers are more custom. So many possibilities with the platform.
