CCW for 11 years. Mostly carried a HK P7M8 during those years, but for the last 6 months I've been carrying a Citadel CS officer's sized 1911 in a Milt Sparks SS2 holster.

Don't carry a BUG.

Gotta put together a picture of my carry kit :(

Since you asked, Clyde: I had a CCW in Virginia, until I moved back to Pennsylvania in 2005. I have had a Pennsylvania Resident License since. The last two years, I have also had Florida, Virginia and Utah Non Resident permits.:flagwave:

When I carry, it is usually my Colt Night Commander (with tactical package) in a Milt Sparks Summer Special Holster. :D

I've carried for more than 40 yr's (I think). I've owned and carried just about all of them.

The last 10 yr's or so a Les Baer OWB or Ed Brown Kobra Carry.

Too many to list (my wife may get on the computer) and I wouldn't want that.

Had mine in NH when I was 18 ... that expired about the time I moved to CT in 1986 after college. I did not get a permit or carry for the 22 years I was in CT, then got my SC resident permit and a NH out-of-state permit in early 2009.

Most of the time I carry my DW Guardian 45 in a Kelley Gun Leather C-Flex. It is so slim, comfortable, and easy to carry I hardly need the diminutive Keltec PF-9 anymore.

My wife and I got ours when we were in VA. We lived in a place off the road w/no close neighbors and home crashing was becoming the "IN" thing in our area. They expire in 2014 and we'll renew here in OH. I carry all the time even around the farm. You never know who'll come down the driveway.

I'm fairly new to the game and only been carrying a couple years now. Started out with a Ruger LCP, then my 1911 in a crossbreed and have since gone to a G19 in a crossbreed.

If I feel the need I'll carry my wife's 738 as a BUG, actually need to pick another one up for my myself or another Ruger 380 like I had.

CCW for five years and just received my renewal. Started with a LCP and CZ compact, but recently graduated to a DW ECO 45. Being from Floriduh I will probably still carry my LCP in the summer and when wearing shorts and t-shirts (most of the time) and the ECO in the cooler months. Have a new Garrett Silent Thunder which will probably work in the hotter months. My wife has been liking my LCP so there may be a 9mm pocket pistol soon.

CCW since July 2012 - somebody hasta be new.

Primary rig is vbob in Silent Thunder IWB on one of Lane's 1.5" belts. Sometimes add fancy Magholder Magazine Holder; sometimes carry in any of 3 alternative holsters including my cotep iwb

Secondary is Sig P938. Waiting on a Silent Thunder Solo, but carrying in a cheapo universal.

I need to break out the camera soon. Funny that 4 months of carry have already seen 5 holsters with a 6th on the way and a 7th high up on the list (a solo for the vbob if the 938 solo meets expectations.

Hi,

I started in 1973 with a FOID card in Illinois (not carry, but at least I could own a pistol...)

In 1980s got my CC License in New York.

LFI from Masaad Ayoob in 1988. I passed this course using my Dan Wesson Model 15 from a complete pistol-pac. In our end of course shoot-off, I missed beating Mas by one point!

In 1996 got my CCH Permit in North Carolina.

In 2011 became a NC CCH Instructor.

I've carried wherever it's been legal, and like it here in North Carolina!

I carried a DW .357 in a shoulder holster, back in the 70's.
Didn't have a "legitimate need" for a CPL by 1980, cause I made a career change.
Then, around 1988 I found myself visiting crime scenes and designing alarm and video systems in Detroit. I just retired from that occupation, about a year ago. Will renew my CPL in about 2 yrs.
These are the pistols (pictured) that are in my very flexible carry routine.
I prefer the CBOB, in the little Galco or DeSantis (wich is ocupied by my C3 in this picture). Depends on my mood, the weather, where I'm going, etc.
Also in the line-up you will find my P220R in a Minotaur holster (no, those grips did not come with it), M&P 9mm w/thumb safety in Galco leather, Kahr C9 dressed in Don Hume, and my CZ 85 Combat 9mm is wearing it's Concealco holster.

I've only been carrying for about a year and a half. Primarily it's my CCO in either a Milt Sparks VMII or a Crossbreed SuperTuck.

When I need something smaller, I use a Sig P238 in either an RKBA or DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster.

I think I'll take a few new photos of the rigs later this week.

Goes in a cargo pocket.

I carried a Charter Arms Bulldog first, then tried carrying a full sized 1911, but that didn't work. So I got a Sig Fastback Carry, but then downsized to the Sig Ultra Compact.

Have CC'd for a year and a half; rotate between a Kimber SIS Pro, Eclipse Pro, Raptor Pro (all in .45ACP), ECO, and hopefully soon, a Baer HW Mono Commanche.

Carry in these OWB holsters: BiancheriUSA black elephant pancake style holsters with matching belt. These are awesome, good looking well made, and the best bang for the buck that I've seen on the market. Turn around time from placing the order to having them in my mitts: one week! For my less often CC'd full-sized 1911's I use a Wilson Lo-Profile pancake.

Got my CA CCW over 2 years ago and just renewed it a few months ago for another 2 years. Sent in my app/fingerprints/etc for the Utah and Arizona non-resident CCW's and should be getting them in a couple of months, so I can carry in 36 states. I do travel often enough for my work.

For the few who don't know about this CCW reciprocity map by state:
http://www.usacarry.com/concealed_carry_permit_reciprocity_maps.html

And here's a CCW app that I have on my Android smartphone, pretty handy:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ryan.ccw&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsInJ5YW4uY 2N3Il0.

Current EDC is a Glock 23; sometimes a G27 depending on the needs. But this will soon change to a CBOB and have already ordered IWB and OWB holsters.

Right of the mag pouch is a Taser C2, for those less-than-lethal situations.

A good question to keep the bad guys guessing about, imho. I've had my permit for a couple of years now and should've pulled the trigger on it long ago. First five-year renewal comes up in May of '16, I believe.

Permit for concealed carry is not necessary in Vermont!!

I do, however, have permits for NH and CT, which enables me to carry in many states....unfortunately, there are many "commie" states in the Northeast, which prevent me from carrying where I most need to....large urban areas.

Yep, I have one. I got my FL CWFL in 1993. In addition, several years ago I got my retired LEO credentials (when the agency I retired from started issuing them), and I am qualified (and certified annually, at least) under the LEOSA of 2004, also known as HR218. So, I have what amounts to a 50 state CCW permit, even though there are some states where I'd be reluctant to carry, like NJ, NY, and IL (I don't plan on going there anyway). In FL, if you have a CWFL, you don't have to go through the waiting period to buy a firearm, however, if you are LEO, or retired LEO with ID, you have to wait.

My EDV varies, depending on what I'm doing and my clothing - anything from a Keltec P3AT pocket pistol, up to my 1911, to include a S&W M&P 40 Shield, a S&W 642 snubby, or a Glock 27.

I honestly can't remember when I started carrying. Used to open carry a Ruger security six to go snake hunting with friends at sixteen. Went in the Navy at 19 and when I landed in Wa. state in 78' got my 1st CCW. So what's that Hmmm... 36? To damn long ago to remember... anyway I've always had a soft spot for the 1911, packed a variety of iron but always come back to the best.

BBQ - DW CBOB

I guess I should update my entry...

The SIG Fastback didn't last too long as my carry gun because it wouldn't quite fit in a cargo pocket in a usable position. So I got a SIG Ultra Carry which fits perfectly. Here it is in the cargo pocket rig. The foam keeps it from shifting and prevents printing. The result is amazingly inconspicuous since there is no discernible outline of anything in the cargo pocket.

http://www.cotep.org/forum/picture.php?albumid=98&pictureid=708

Note that due to the magwell, a Checkmate 8 round mag barely protrudes - just enough to make it easy to seat fully. All my full sized mags work flawlessly, so I never use Officer mags in it. Without a base pad, an Officer mag can't easily be seated anyhow.

I carry 3 spare mags in the opposite cargo pocket.

Have a Concealed Weapon License here in Florida for a decade. Have other states, too. Here in Florida it is clearly printed as a license, not a permit. My EDC has been a Glock 17, though now that I have had all but one of the surgeries I need, I am able to transition back to 1911's. No surprise I carry an array of Springfield 1911's, my EDC guns are all plain parkerized, low profile or no sights, rough grip texture. You guys have me slowly motivating to a DW Valor, though when I acquire that 1911 it will have night sights and grips that I will grind to fit my hands, especially the mag release.

Florida CWFL since 2008 (should have gotten it long ago). Now carry whenever/wherever legal. For a quiet day in the office, I will carry the Kahr CM9 in a Panther IWB.

If out and about the rotation consists of the Sig P220 SAS, Sig P229 SAS or Glock 19. The P229 and Glock reside in Panthers. I have a Blade-Tec for the P220.

I have an embarrassing confession to make: I purchased a SA Champion Loaded a couple of years ago, and even have two beautiful Milt Sparks holsters for it. I have shot it enough at the range, and it is uber reliable. But I just can't get past that thumb safety thingy. I wake up in the middle of the night in a sweat, and wondering what if I really really need it pronto and I swipe at it, and miss? Just haven't trained enough with it to feel comfortable.

Another Florida CCW permit holder here. I obtained mine about 7 years ago. I carry either my Dan Wesson Guardian 1911 or Springfield XDs if I'm traveling light.

Run through a few IDPA matches with it. You really find out about a gun that way!

Another thread I failed to respond to. What the heck. Better late than never. Beside we have some new members. Maybe they'll chime in as well.
Anyway, while NJ is a "shall issue" state in reality it's a "no issue." Several lawsuits have been filed throughout the years and each time it's gets dismissed or the current process re-affirmed.
Anyway, since I'm LEO I get to carry and thanks to H.R. 218, for life and in all 50 states.
So I'm been carrying since 1995. Below is my EDC. Missing is a Swiss Army Knife with a handcuff key. For off duty it's the same except for the .38 and one less magazine.

The old "Georgia Firearms License" has been replaced by a "Georgia Weapons Carry License". The name change is partly because it also allows you to carry knives with a blade longer than 5" concealed. I may have to start carrying a blade. Open carry and concealed carry are treated equally by law as far as I can tell, but of course if you carry openly, it's possible that you might "frighten" someone who might then call the Police.

So now instead of a two letter "FL" we have a three letter "WCL" bringing us up to speed with all the CCWs, CPLs, CHLs, CPLs, CHPs, CCLs, LCPs...

New laws have made life much easier on WCL holders. Carry is now legal in state parks, churches that explicitly allow it, bars, etc. They have made it much more difficult to get arrested for accidentally carrying in State Government buildings by making it legal except where there are metal detectors to stop you from entering.

Got the first permit in Ma. in 72, gave it up for the Az permit when I moved here 10 yrs ago. I've had a Ma; RI; NH; and Az permit over the years. Since 72 which makes it 42 years with a permit from one or another state.

As of this fall, this is my cool weather EDC. I have started wearing an unlined cotton canvas jacket when it's too warm for a real jacket, just so I can carry this rig.

http://www.cotep.org/forum/picture.php?albumid=98&pictureid=1080

Sig Fastback Carry in .45.

I like the extreme cant on that holster because I can move the pistol farther back and still be able to draw easily. And then a gust of wind won't expose my rig. And while driving, the pistol is not blocked by the seat belt and is easy to draw.

You might notice that the mags are loaded to capacity-1. I found that in IDPA competition, I would often fail to seat the mag fully on a tactical reload, and then it would drop out when I fired a shot. Leaving one round out makes it much easier to seat the mag. It also is easier on the springs.

That is a Leatherman Wingman that I sometime wear inside my belt. If I wear it outside it tends to work it's way off. And the light is an UltraFire with a 14500 li-ion battery that I generally carry in my pocket. It also likes to work itself off my belt.

I just went through all ten pages... I can't believe that I never responded to this thread. Well... with a bunch of new guys coming up... Maybe my post will prompt them to post theirs too. So... here goes:

One of these... clockwise from the left. Dan Wesson Guardian in 9mm, Dan Wesson Patriot or my current favorite... my Dan Wesson CCO.

http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/g407/DaFadda/DSCN0790_zpswnugfku0.jpg

How do I carry? IWB with a custom made holster from Lane Spier...aka Lasko Leather. I thought the praying hands was a nice touch, and he named the model "The Preacher".

http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/g407/DaFadda/P1020641.jpg

EDC also includes a Cold Steel 350. aka a "Gibbs knife" from NCIS. No picture on that one.

First permit was in 1985 from CT, it is now an out of state permit for me. Current State is Tennessee and I also have the Utah permit. So I can carry in all but 7 or 8 states, and I don't want to go to any of them anyhow! NY, NJ, RI, MA, IL, CA, CO and I think... Oregon.

If you have one, how long have you had one? And let see your EDC and carry rig and BUG , etc................

Clyde

Initially, I took a "multi-state CCW (http://shootersontarget.com/multi-state.html)" course offered in (of all places), NJ! For the course fee, they covered everything (training, fingerprints, completion of forms, Notary services, photographs, etc.)... everything except the application fees themselves, for each state you wished. They offer four states in total (UT, AZ, FL, VA). I took all but VA, as the "non-res" fee was a little pricey, and I was covered in VA by the other states. For FL, the course did offer a live fire qualification portion, but it was BYOG/A. They supplied the range and targets. The facility was the Quinton Sportsmens Club (http://www.quintonsportsmensclub.com/) in Salem NJ, but i understand, now that the course is "mobile" and will travel to wherever in the NJ/Del/PA area anyone would like to host it.

I applied for the three states (AZ, FL, UT, all non-res) in the 03/15/2014 time frame, and received all back roughly 2 months later. As of today, my FL CWFL is now a "resident" CWFL. My EDC is a "Shield 9mm" with 8 rnd mags, but I'm thinking about changing to a SIG Sauer P320 Sub compact for EDC and making the Shield the BUG. I'll have to see how it feels to fire, first, but I do like the extra mag capacity (+4 as compared to the Shield). Hopefully, it will result in better groupings (the Shield is still scattering just a tad), but I have to check that first. I'm getting very good groupings with my full sized SIG Sauer P226, but it's too big to EDC concealed.

We'll see.

I want to take this opportunity to wish all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Here in Georgia it is officially called a WCL (Weapons Carry License) because you have to have it not only for concealed carry but for open carry too. And it includes knives.

But in practice it is called all sorts of things..."Carry license" "Weapons Permit" "CCW" etc.

I have had a Connecticut CCW since 1980, and a VA CCW for 20+ years. Daily carry, depending on time of year and attire, is one of the following; S&W 640 carried OWB or pocket (.357 Mag), S&W Shield 9mm carried IWB or a DW CBOB in 45 auto. With the revolver it is stoked with 125 gr .Hornady HST with two speed strips with .38 Spcl 125 +p, Shield is carried with HST +p 124gr with at least 1 spare Mag and the CBOB 230 gr +p HST. The CBOB is carried IWB or OWB with two spare mags.
