I try to buy only brass cased ammo, but it's getting harder, at least at reasonable prices.

What's your opinion, please? :)

Brass only for me. I don't even really like to relaod nickel cases because it cracks to easy I think. Resist the urge to go with anything else....it is getting better!

I won't let a steel case touch the extractor on any of my pistols

I'll use nickel plated...but I watch it very closely for cracking. Brass is really the only way to go.... Steel cases should not be reloaded.... and don't think the ammo companies have reloader's best interests in mind. They don't WANT us to reload... they want us to buy their products at their inflated prices....
Just my 2 Cents.

I'm getting away from steel cased ammo as it galls up after 150 rounds or so because it is so dirty.

I have had no extractor issues with my wilson extractor in my Springfield after approx 2500 rounds of steel and brass cased ammo. Mostly steel 80/20 steel vs brass.

Rather save up the money and just shoot brass.

My problem with some of the steel commie ammo is the fact the bullets themselves sometimes have a thin copper wash over steel cores...and who knows how hard that steel is, and what it does to a barrel.

I've used CCI Blaszer aluminum for years with no issues. But I don't reload... And I'm no expert!!

I used the same at one of the threat focused classes, ran great.
One student had Wolf ammo, multiple failures.....

I shoot only steel in the PTR 91 PDW .308 pistol, the fluted chamber absolutely EATS brass casings.
