Any input on these, pro or con? Other than the purist angle...

Could be a good alternative caliber in 1911 format. Personally I would do it only as an extra barrel for one of my 1911 10mm pistols. Current 1911 line up is about 5 in 45acp, 2 in 10mm & 1 in 9mm.

I like them, they work just fine, use the same mags as 10mm, holds more rounds, cheaper to reload and readily available. Most Law enforcement uses 40 S&W. Allot of factory 10mm isn't much hotter than 40 S&W.

The down side is it is not a 45. There is no replacement for displacement.

What do you carry on duty? Still begins with a 4.

I have always had a problem with .40 cal. I mean...why? Why does it exist? An intermediate round that doesn't have an "S" on its chest and was only created cause whimpy feds couldn't handle to 10mm. I will never own a .40 cal anything....but I do want a 10mm 1911. Go figger.
