Don't decap before tumbling unless you like cleaning media out of primer pockets and flash holes.

Not an issue.

The decapping pin on the sizing die takes care of any media stuck in the flash holes. If you use a decent media separator there won't be any in the primer pocket.

So you're saying you deprime/decap +size and then do it again after tumbling to remove any media stuck in the flash hole?

Wait what? Maybe I'm missing something from the above statement from DrH? Please enlighten me.

Not sure what dies you are using, but with RCBS, the decapping die and sizing die are all in one. If you decap/deprime and size then tumble, you will indeed get media in the flash hole and will need a toothpick/needle to remove said media. While it's one thing I haven't done in regards to reloading, a few members here have and they've stated what a PIA it is to remove the media.

My Lee dies do both at the same time, deprime and resize.

So there's a 2 Step process when using the the Lee dies, decapping and sizing are done separately? That's a bummer, especially if you have to use ithe decapper again to remove media.

Sorry to hear that Dr H.
