That said.... if you are preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse, Body armormakes good sense. In my honest opinion, if you feel the need to put on body armor to go to Walmart at 6:30 pm.... either move to a safer area.... or think seriously about therapy. It's way to easy to become paranoid.

ALL that said... If you are confronted with a firearm, it will probably be a pistol caliber, and the perp is going to more afraid than you are. (in my personal experience). So, for me... body armor is not a reality, EXCEPT that I'm a Zombie Apocalypse Prepper. Go figger.... don't ever ask me what's under my shirt....

Oh... and don't ask if I own body armor... I would never tell....

NOW.... as I re read the original post..... a plate in my backpack? That I could go with, since I'm usually carrying a pack.

I'm only interested in the plate in a backpack idea, that's why I started this thread. I believe it's a great idea for those of us that carry packs daily or even for those with BoBs in their vehicles.

I am kind with you on this Caleb, 1/2 the LEO's are good enough, maybe, to take a head shot in the heat of battle when you have to do it very fast, its a skill you have to practice over and over to be good at. but in general I would worry about mass shots more. Larger target to hit........I guess you could get a Kevlar helmet too:)?

I have a 2a panel in the briefcase. If I upgraded it to 3a, it would handle all pistol calibers even from a subgun.

Don't need steel to protect against pistol calibers, just a properly rated kevlar panel
