I looked at some of the Glock forums, and it seems they all have this same discussion from time to time. It isn't slide damage, but the wear on the side stop that is an issue. Doing it a few times is fine, but don't do it all the time seems to be the consensus.

All of you pansies pants that are afraid to use the slide stop, look at it carefully it has a place for your finger to push it down, unless your 1911s are a bunch of SAFE QUEENS..............or have mim parts...................

I don't see a difference in dropping the slide and slingshoting it home.

Anyone else get annoyed watching the vid and this dude dropping the slide on every word? I got his point the first time he did it, the other times were excessive. :rolleyes:

I use the slide stop/release on all my pistols. Wear and tear is part of owning a shooter.
