So how common are GI 1911’s and what premium do they run as compared to other 1911’s from the same era. Also what will happen to the value of current similar examples when 8000 more are dropped into the market every year?

I would be willing to pay $1k for a genuine surplus 1911. Especially with a CMP certificate, they value will only go up.

Well, if I go and join the CMP, I just may have a chance after all. Turns out because they are over 50 yrs old, the will fall under the C&R and will be roster exempt. Woo Hoo.
