Very pricey for new kids on the block. Pass.

I have been seeing R1s around here for $600ish. But I still would not want one after seeing Ruger's other new flagship product the SR9 with it's tinny pot metal controls. But then again, I don't like anybody's tupperware.

Thank you for the link! All I have to say for now is hmmm.....maybe! It has genuine Novak night sights. |
I may be seeing things but it looks like it has a Cobra mag.
70 series. Probably MIM and what looks suspiciously like a plastic mainspring housing (hard to tell). Would like to know if it has a forged frame..... probably not. |

Probably uses MIM parts, but then again who doesn't in this price range? I would be interested to know. At a sub $600 street price, I would buy one. We know it is no Dan Wesson, but then it is priced at a lot lower pricepoint. |

Investment cast. Not a shocker. Real Novak sights is a surprise. |
Thank you for the video link oak1971.
I am going to buy one. It looks like they have a 4lb trigger pull and can do 1.25-1.5 in groups at 25 yards-if I understood the video correctly. |
It would make a nice truck gun.

All USA made pistol, not a single foreign part.
Forged slide. Cast frame. Integral plunger tube!! Real Novak sights!!! Probably has MIM. But we will have to see if it is "Taurus" MIM or "Colt" MIM. (Good or bad MIM.) If it isn't a Taurus, it is going to put a hurt to the low priced STI's and whooop RIA. |
