Where at in the OC? My sis lives in Aliso Viejo. Next time I'm down there, we'll go to OnTarget and shoot.

Did you get your Cbob from Socalmedix on Calguns? Tell me you did not pay his asking price!

Ell

Thanks for the welcome all!

Skosh, sounds great re: On Target; been a member there for a couple of years. I'm 15 minutes south of On Target.

And yes, got the CBOB from Socalmedix, great guy. Had to drive 90 minutes to Gun World in Burbank to PPT, not too bad. The next drive next week will be worth it though. And ... got it for $1600 cash and it came with all the original stuff; papers, spent shell, DW wrench, 2 DW/Checkmate mags, case. He bought it new in 2008 and has never fired it, it was immaculate. Along with the extra DW Shadow grips, he also threw in some Wolf springs (recoil, firing pin) he never installed. I'm keeping it stock until I get a good feel for it.

Here's the photo from his WTS post:

Say...you're not affiliated with E llison, are you?

Thanks. Nope, actually just met Ellison/skosh69 in this thread and now see he's also on Calguns which I frequent a lot.

Addendum: LOL, cool how E llison shows up as Ellison; and I thought you just hit the space bar by accident.

I'm glad you were smarter than me.

Wow, $750 for a CBOB. And to think that new Rock Island Armory 1911's go for almost $600 now, or maybe a few hundred less a few years ago. Still the difference in quality is ginormous.

I've been thinking of switching to a 1911 .45 to replace my .40 for EDC. Came across an Ed Brown Kobra Carry at a LGS and fell in love with it, but it was $3K. Then researched and found out about the DW's, came across a NIB deal, and I was done for. This CBOB will be put to good use on my side.
