How would you break your MSH? You don't modify that, only the frame.

Agreed....I tried a bobbed 1911, shot all over the place.....

Alchemy Custom, if you must have it done.

That's not true. You have to cut off the corner of the MSH and re-position the mounting hole up higher on the MSH, hench the word "bobbed".

It applies to both the frame and the MSH.

If you go that route then, yes. But, you can buy an Ed Brown or Fusion MSH already bobbed.

Right, but the MSH pin hole has been moved...which is the point I was referring to when you said you don't have to modify your MSH. ;)

I'm sorry but I'm not understanding. The MSH is the peice that houses the main spring and slides into the frame/grip, right? So, if you buy a "bobbed" MSH.....there is no modification to that housing. All you need to modify would be tje frame/grip. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Right, it's all semantics. We're both on the same page, just different books...LOL

It all goes back to your original post and Mike's about broken MSH's. It's been a long standing joke around here that "bobtailed" 1911's have "broken MSH's", that's what Mike was referring to. You then stated that nothing would be done to the MSH, which in reality is not true, it will be bobbed, either from Ed Brown, Fusion, yourself or gunsmith. That's all that I was implying.
