Lane, I can't wait for the belts! Count me in. This should be good hearing all the suggestions. You may pull your hair out. Good luck. By the way I will send payment with my order. Thanks for your great work. I wear my COTEP holster every day. I did clean and polish it. Scott

Time for a bit of an update. I want to try some new things that may or may not turn out. And, the Chief may or may not like. Clyde, don't be shy if you see something that you're not crazy about.

I decided to play around with the small piece, since it'd be easy to cut out a new one if needed. Using an airbrush, I dyed the entire piece mahogany, and then after it dried, airbrushed the edges with black, resulting in a soft, black border. I think it looks very nice, and my wife agrees. I don't know how well it'll show in pictures - I took a couple to try and capture it:

You'll notice in that last picture, I also tried adding some leather lacing to the edges - this particular pattern is called Mexican basketweave. I'm not sure if its something we'd want to add or not. My wife didn't care for it - felt that it made the look "too western." I'm 50/50 on it - I've just always wanted to give it a try. It's very time consuming...

Anyway, I'm going to cut out a new piece and start putting it together - Clyde if you don't mind, I'd like to go with the two tone dye - either mahogany/black or dark brown/black. But it's your holster, you make the call.

This one is now my focus. One other thing we need to discuss is any "bling" you'd like to add. I've got the USN stamp that I can add, but it'll probably be farily muted looking. I've also see the USN logo as a concho - take a look at these. Is that interesting to you at all? I'm not sure if I can do anything with shark skin - it seems that it's in short supply now, thanks to the tree huggers. Maybe we use tree hugger skin...
