Just glad to hear you on the mend.

Back again, by popular demand?
I had a pistol on consignment at a local shop. It sold so I took partial payment in cash, the rest in a "new in the box" gun.
Imported by K&G in California in 1993-4 time frame; the Arsenal Bulgarian Makarov was purpose made as a civilian pistol, not a Milsurp. As far as Makarov quality goes the Bulgarian Makes fall behind the East German guns; which far and away are the best Makarovs made. Fit and finish on the East German Mak is on a par with Post WWII Walther PPK/S made guns. The Bulgarians are on a par with the Tokarovs and other Eastern European Milsurp Pistols... Mine, still in its factory box, was unfired (other then at the factory) - it was covered inside and out with cosmoline! A stiff brush, mineral spirits, and some elbow grease and it cleaned up nicely! http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/al..._box.sized.jpg http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/al...ak_2.sized.jpg |

EAST GERMAN MAKAROV
I thought I'd posted this one before but apparently I didn't. I stopped at a Gun Shop that was going out of business last year. They had a Colt 1903 .32 and an East German Makarov next to each other with the price tags switched. I told him about it and he gave me a good discount on the Mak. The East German Makarovs are probably the best ones made; fit and finish are on a par with early Post WWII Walthers. This one is dated 1961. http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/al...tols/mak_5.jpg http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/al...tols/mak_4.jpg http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/al...tols/mak_3.jpg http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/al...tols/mak_2.jpg http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/al...tols/mak_1.jpg |

Back, after a long rest....
I've been waiting for this gun from the maker, Chuck Warner of Elite Warrior Armament in New Mexico for a while. Based on the High Power, this P-35 started life as a block of billet steel. It includes upgrades and modifications to make it stronger in High Power weak areas; the front strap is thicker to allow for checkering; and the slide is heavier (with an 18# recoil spring). Chuck designed this gun to shoot +P and +P+ ammo. I've shot a few different 9mm ammo brands; so far the gun functions quite nicely with Speer Gold Dot LE 147 Gr. JHP ammo. http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/al...um12/EWA_6.jpg http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/al...um12/EWA_7.jpg http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/al...um12/EWA_5.jpg http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/al...um12/EWA_4.jpg http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/al...um12/EWA_3.jpg http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/al...um12/EWA_2.jpg http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/al...um12/EWA_1.jpg |

ParaOrd C6.45LDA compact .45 ACP. The knife, sold long ago for a tidy sum was made by Bailey Bradshaw; elephant ivory scales; engraving, gold filled accents. Sort of miss that one!

Hey guys - I'm alive and well - just burned myself out some on the rush to post a gun and knife per day.
I'll resume soon. Thanks to you all and to SDMCC530 for checking on me! Tim |
