how about a couple of different category's?

best 5 shot group with a scoped rifle at 100 yards and 200 or 300 yards, that way members who only have a 100 yard range can play and members with longer ranges have the option of shooting further.

we could also have an iron sight category for the guys who want to shoot their M1 Grand's AR's or anything else with iron's.

Agree..this is what I was thinking right or wrong.....3 types 5 shots....
1. Iron sights at 100
2. Optics at 100
3. Anything goes at 200

Just me thinking but I don't know what everyone else will be into. I would shoot all 3 comps....you could use any caliber for any target/sight set up? Hate to make a fun shoot to complex or rule binding kind of defeats the fun of it.

Any prize suggestions would be nice too...are any donations for prizes when time get closer would be helpful...I am more than willing to do the "judge" roll though...love this stuff!

Any other thoughts???

Make it a COTEP ballcap. That's what seems to be most wanted recently.

I don't know if I'll participate. I'm moving to Norman, OK and will have find a range, etc.

yeah, if we don't keep it simple no one will want to play, i'm fine with those three range category's, and any caliber, target and sight set up is a great idea.

for a date the end of April or early may would work better for me but i'll do it whenever y'all want to.

and a COTEP Long Range Rifle shoot winner tee shirt is a great idea, and a COTEP Cap, maybe we could have them made with a set of cross hairs or a sniper Rifle on the shirt, i'll donate a set of grips as well.

I am leaning towards May, I am not so busy then to take care of the competition. I will compete but not enter being I am taking care of the deal, just want to see how I would fare. I would love it if you would put up some grips, super nice of you. What a great prize. I like the hat idea very much, would buy one for the pistol comp too that we did...that is a great prize! If nobody on the site can make the hats or whatever I am sure cafe press would be a viable option.

maybe Doug's tee shirt guy makes caps too? i'll look into it.
