1000 or BUST!

True. I know that in Utah you can just drive out to the desert (certain miles away from civilization) and set up and shoot. Some guys shoot a mile (1760yds) with no one else around. Wish I could do that here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Trust nothing my friend. If you intend to make a run at this in earnest, then you'll be measuring and weighing everything.:banghead: Consistency is everything in this game, even the temperature and humidity in your loading room when your loading.:target: Here is a link to a nice (not over the top) article on ammo. It has some links in it to assist in other facets of the game. https://journalofmountainhunting.com...ange-shooting/ |

I agree Sir but, to start I’ll use factory loaded stuff.....it’s actually pretty good. Once I find what my gun likes, I can fine tune it with loading my own. Thanks for the link, I’ll check it out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Very Nice Caleb . Now remember shoot 3 e
rds and clean out the barrel then 3 rds again and check barrel temp every so often. Clyde |

Thank you. I haven’t personally seen or read anything that shows definitive accuracy issues by not “breaking in” a new barrel. So, generally I just shoot it with however many rounds I brought that particular day. Also, I believe you will not see the actual accuracy of a barrel till it fouls up properly. What I usually do with a new barrel is to shoot how ever many rounds I brought then, clean it really well at home base. The next few range trips after that get no cleaning till I see the accuracy falling off. I will run a bore snake through it every now and then though. Convince me otherwise and I might listen. Yesterday I received the ammo I ordered from Grafs. Unfortunately, I will be out of town on the next open range days (5th and 6th) for the Sheriffs Range. So, looks like some time in February if I can’t get out to Okeechobee to shoot (1.25hr drive). I’m going to look into a club membership this coming year and see if it’ll be worth it for me.
