So the challange is foreveryone to put one or two songs from your favorite artist. I will start. Ms. Jones is my favorte musician by far. Jazz/Blues is such meaningful music. So i will start.....

Enjoy!
Can't wait to hear what you all got!

Yes, as a kid I listened to Hendrix over and over and over......my older siblings made me ahead of my time.

sdmc530 01-14-2015 03:32 PM

Cream is great, Hendrix...a legand, too bad his life ended the way it did.

Xbonz 01-14-2015 03:37 PM

As I near my 60th b-day I realize how many phenomenal artists I've had the pleasure of listening to. Not only from my lifetime but from those of my parents generation. If I tried to list all that fit into my "favorites" category there would be no bandwidth left on this forum....

jmlutz 01-14-2015 03:38 PM

Just scratching the surface here, I'm trying to put up something I haven't posted before.

I don't think till today anybody knows how Hendrix died except it was too early. I still have his obituary that I cut out from the newspaper. Need to find that, I put it in a book to keep it flat.

Two of my favorite songs, totally different genres.

Audioslave - Like a stone. Great guitar solo in the middle

The Band - The night they drove ol' dixie down. Classic song from a great documentary. :D

Important info for posting videos

When copying and pasting videos from Youtube, remove the "s" in the "https", that will allow you to imbed the video and not have to follow a link for the video.

Here's an example:

Gosh, I like so much disconnected music and Phil & Johnny were already posted. I'll submit something old and something new. Rush, I've like for over 30 years now. LDR, less than three but she sings like an old soul.

Bebo and Chucho Valdes - father and son, quite an interesting story involving the two. Bebo passed recently and was performing into his 90s. Bebo is a legend.

I much enjoyed the posts thus far, as a person that listens to a wide variety, and broad spectrum of music styles, it is truly cool to see what others post.

I listen to everything from classical, to some very hard rock/heavy metal. My only dislike is for the RAP/Gangsta genre...

Loved the blast from the past with Pitor's Megadeth entry, here are some guys I have seen live several times, during a time when their lead singer wasn't the "tool" he is now, and they still had their guitarist Chris DeGarmo in the band:

QUEENSRYCHE

And on a lighter, but still melodically guitar driven theme:

Natalie Merchant (with Jennifer Turner on Guitar)

One of my top albums too.

Colt Hammerless 01-19-2015 02:51 AM

One or two songs? Nah. How about a bunch?

Hope you don't mind that there's a couple of covers in this mix, but sometimes they're fun to listen to.

"The Ecstasy of Gold" performed live, and conducted by Ennio:

Nice cover of "The Rain Song" by Zep:

"The Champions" by Era, along with some nice flying footage:

"Gold On The Ceiling" The Black Keys:

These folks did a pretty nice job with "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" by CSN

Of course you've got to have some Floyd:

"Canyonero" by Hank Williams Jr./The Simpsons. There's videos that have better audio, but this is the one that has the footage from the Simpsons.

And because it's midnight thirty plus a few, and I should be getting to bed, "Sleepwalk" by Santo and Johnny:

Paul

Thank You!
