Fusion 6". ???????

Anybody here shot the fusion 1911's much?
Would think if you love Dan Wesson fusion would be something to try.

sdmc530 02-01-2015 03:40 PM

I have always wanted a 6" 1911. Its on my list. I have shot a Springer V12 and that was awesome. Fusion is an option not too many factory 6" around.

Yes, I had Fusion build two guns for..
One is a 9mm/38Super Carry gun with a Commander upper and and officer lower (size)
The other is my Steel Challenge 2011 in 38Super Major

Bob Server, builds great guns

How it looked when it was finished (now looks a little different after about 3000 res)

My personal "project" gun a few years ago was built on a 6 inch 10 mm Fusion. Fun gun.

I have a couple Fusion's, pretty good shooters. Reliable and a good value.

Big gary 03-05-2015 03:21 PM

Well here it goes, sending check off to start the build.
Wait time is about five months right now.

So I hope to have something to show you come August.
I don't wait well.

Gary..did you ever shoot at Pembroke? I remember that race gun, I think from there.

Caleb 03-06-2015 07:51 AM

Waiting sucks, congrats and can't wait to see it.

Big gary 03-06-2015 08:46 PM

Waiting does suck.
So five months to build a gun would most likely break down to four plus months moving to top of list to be built. My guess, or do you think they do some batch work. Talk to me, I got five months to kill. Maybe I should order leather, it might beat it here. Does anyone make 6 inch leather?

Colt Hammerless 03-07-2015 11:50 AM

I made a 6 inch 1911 holster for a customer once. Actually, it was a Kimber in 10mm with a comp that brought the overall length to that of a 6 inch.

Big gary 03-07-2015 04:21 PM

You make holster?
For 6 inch 1911's in right hand?

Colt Hammerless 03-08-2015 01:17 AM

Sure, I can do that. I'll send a PM.

Paul

I remember....I was there shooting with a baseball star. People started to recognize him so we started packing up. Must have been you came in and I saw the pistol. It was .38 Super, and bullets were going through the previous bullet holes on the targets. We spoke briefly. A guy and his wife walked up to you, asked how much a gun like that costs. "About five" was the answer. Really? Five hundred? the guy asks........Um, five thousand.....His expression was priceless.
Would love to put a few down range with that pistol. Sure thing it'll be more accurate than I am.

Big gary 03-09-2015 12:30 PM

Paul

Sent some info back to you.
Gary

Big gary 03-10-2015 09:41 AM

I have leather coming now, thanks Paul.
Picked up a soft gun case.
Have plenty of mags and ammo.
My scrap iron buddy is working on some 100 yard gongs for me.
And I still got nearly 5 months to go.
I guess I should just kinda try and forget this and work on the yard, bbq, shoot other firearms I have. Go back to just reading the forum.
Talk more in August.

Colt Hammerless 03-10-2015 01:54 PM

hmmmm.....What can you do to kill the time.....

Do you reload? If not, you can learn that in the meantime. Or you could get through 1/5th of "War and Peace".

Big gary 03-10-2015 05:04 PM

Its like it just turned spring today here. It's 70 and beautiful out.
The snow is all gone here in the middle of Kansas.
Think I will save the reading for bad weather Paul, but I could do some reloading. Need to kill a couple turkeys!!!! Plenty of distractions.

Great...I'll be there in five minutes, I live in Boca....LOL

Big gary 04-02-2015 01:34 PM

Bless me father for I have sinned.

About ten years ago I purchased my first 1911, it is a Kimber USA team match II. It is a bastard of a 1911, has the Swartz and external extractor. But this gun shoots awesome with no problems ever. 50 yard target shooting is a blast. Gun has had over 3500 rounds thru it and I just don't see ever letting it go.

I guess I have been talking to Dave a Fusion allot. And I have found out I can have him fit a 6" slide, barrel to this gun making it possible to run the gun with ether slide, 5" or 6". And for pretty reasonable money, with about a 8 week turn around. It will remove the Swartz and become a series 70 style.

Well I have a little sickness, so I will ship this gun off Friday to get enhanced.
You guys know I really need a pair of 6 inch 45's, black and stainless.
It's not like the safe is full, right? Now I own a 3, 4, 4.25, 5 and 6 coming.
A ECO 3.5 would pretty much finish this up right? When will it stop?
