A Brother passes
I was informed that our good friend, Dave Waits, has lost his long battle with cancer. Dave was always quick to answer a question or offer a solution to any gun problem, and usually you could count on it being the correct answer, even if you didn't agree with the way the answer was delivered. He never hesitated to help with technical advice and logic if asked. I even sent folks to him he had never met, and he helped, often with diagrams and pictures.
I will miss my old friend Yoda, and when Jake and I pray tonight, it will be quite lengthy, asking the Lord for rest for DaveW. I hope all of COTEP does the same. Goodbye, Dave pig |
Man, I am sorry to hear that!!
Dave and his family will be in my thoughts and prayers!! |
RIP my friend you are not suffering any more. We will miss you.

Rest in Peace Dave. I will always remember my fellow Raven. God bless you and give strength to your family.

Man, I'm bummed. While I have not personally met many of you here I've come to cal many of you friends and mentors.
I feel his passing as if it was a family member. Rest In Peace, Sir! You're with God now. |
May angels guide him to his rest. Dave and his family are in my prayers.

The last few times he and I talked, he was trying to help me prepare to set up my reloading options which I plan to do this year.

RIP brother Dave, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. Thank you for your friendship and kindness. You will be missed. Heaven has a new Soldier now.

RIP Dave, I will miss you. Dave was one of the few members I have actually talked with on the phone. We never met in person but it was an honor to have him take the time to talk with me. Dave was a very kind and loving family man. I very thankful that he spent time with us here.
|
RIP. Never easy when a friend leaves us, so best to remember the good times.
Best to his family from my crew and me. Thank you, Henry |
Learned more gun knowledge from Dave in a few months than I learned in many years on my own. Cause he cared. People who care, like Dave did, are far and few in between. Mike...Thank You for for introducing me to Dave. He will remain a shining light in my life, and his teachings will resonate to my sons.
RIP, Dave...in my prayers |
Dave is at peace today, with no more pain. May he be as much a blessing to heaven as he was to us on earth. Amen.

Rip brother will be missed!!

This hit me hard when Ell texted me to let me know... I feel a loss just as badly as if a Family member has left us, as that is what I considered Dave, and all of you folks here at COTEP, Family!
I've been blessed with Dave's online company on many occasions, and he has helped me in many ways, both with gun related questions, life's lessons, and the occasional talk about music. Dave always had time to spend, and was always very personable, he listened to what I had to say and made it very apparent he was interested and enjoying the time we spent chatting online. Dave helped me with some shotgun and rifle purchases in the past, and if it were not for his welcome advice, I'd had made some bad decisions, but most affectionately I remember him guessing at some of my guitar equipment with spot on accuracy... As I write this with teardrops hitting the keyboard, I took a minute to pluck out a small acoustic guitar piece I want to dedicate to Dave's memory, may you rest in peace and enjoy life everlasting good friend! It is a very raw and unedited file, with absolutely no production involved, just a minute of tribute with some chords and notes that have been with me for a very long time... Here is my strum to Dave: http://soundcloud.com/scott-st-pierre/for-dave-waits My thoughts and prayers to all of Dave's Family and Friends, and my most sincere prayers for Dave to be at peace, pain free and in Gods Kingdom. My very best to you all! -scott |
Rest In Peace Dave. thank you for your friendship and the knowledge that you shared and may the Good Lord welcome you Home and Comfort those you left behind.

I have been ill lately and have not really felt well enough to get online.
I received a text from EllisoN with the news of our passing brother. Of course we all will miss the vibrant conversations and the loyalty Dave had to the weapons that helped him the most when it counted. And none of us can really blame him. I will miss him and I think we all are better off for knowing him and the knowledge he had. Peace brother. Sing your death song with great joy! We will all miss you. To Paige: we are a rag tag group of brothers from various part of what is left of the greatest country God ever blessed in these latter years. I know that you can count on many of the men here for anything you may need. We all consider it an honor to have known your husband and therefore that honor goes to you. For honor never dies but is passed on by those who love it. May you find peace in the coming days. We all will be praying for your health and needs. With Deepest Sincerity, NoeL |
Noel, that was beautiful.

Although I nerve meet Dave, he was a beloved member of cotep and his opinion was respected. RIP Dave.

RIP Dave, a selfless guy indeed. He explained things about the 1911 I hadn't a clue about after shooting them 40 years. May God bless the family and loved ones.
I am so sorry to hear, but relieved he is out of his suffering. He teaches us again about time in this life. |
