Good NJ family attorney needed
 

A friend of mine, in Fl, is fighting for custody of his granddaughter in NJ. Anybody know of a good attorney up there?

Well, attorneys are like sharks in that they hang within their own cesspool.
There's two avenues I check into;
1. I train with a civil attorney who does most of his work in Essex County. Newark is the county seat and where the courthouse is located. (As I typed this I already reached out to him.)
2. I'll ask either some of the attorney's I work work as well as some of the more respected defense attorneys.

BTW money is a bit of an issue. Last one contacted wanted $15K retainer and $750/hr, out of my buddy's price range.

Your friend has both my sympathy and prayers. Cross state custody battles are difficult and expensive. My granddaughter in law is facing a similar situation. The bastich even got the law to garnishee her wages for support! He has the child and won't allow Shauna visitation!!! It's a long, tough and expensive fight.
