Cruz Sent Packing

So Ted Cruz decided to not endorse Trump last night in his speech at the RNC. Personally, I liked Cruz in the primaries. I did not vote for him as he was going to lose anyway so I supported the leader and obvious "to be" victor, Trump. I prefer a Constitutionalist over any party candidate, but Cruz broke stride, and broke the written vow he signed. He has died to me. I always have allowed for mistakes as I am far from perfect, but this was blatant disregard for Republican Americans across the country. The RNC is a place to unify Republicans and Cruz not endorsing Trump left a void as he had the second highest vote count in the primaries. Politicians like Cruz help divide the Republican party, and will help Hillary gain momentum towards victory.

Cruz gave a news conference this morning in front of the Texas delegation, and he didn't let up. He Trippled down on what he said at the RNC last night. He's still upset about how Trump attacked his wife and father. I'm not sure if Cruz will survive this, politically. I have to agree. he's done.

I watched him on FOX too...He can go to hell. There is nothing personal about endorsing your party's candidate, so Cruz should be able to draw a line between personal and politics. Cruz made this a personal issue, and stabbed us and the Republican party while doing so. No news station is talking about the RNC, the stories are about Cruz. None of it is good. I have an opening for a guy to put the blue discs in urinals at one of my companies. I am going to send Cruz an application.

What a sell out...... Good way to turn your back on your fellow Republicans.

Sheepdog 07-21-2016 11:07 AM

I was a Cruz supporter. NO CLASS! See ya Ted. Yes he is my Senator.

Some of the media pundits are speculating now that Cruz is betting on Trump to lose... and lose big... which would set him (Cruz) up for 2020. If Trump loses by a small margin, then they can claim it was because the full GOP party didn't do their duty and support him.

Most interesting..... <Hey, we need a popcorn icon> :D

Yup....if Trump were to lose big Cruz could say he had nothing to do with it. If Trump loses small, or WINS, Cruz is finished.

Cruz is a scumbag betting against Republicans.

If you like Michael Moore or not(I despise him).....this is cool....

I did see this and, no, I can't stand Michael Moore. But this may be a tactical move on his part. I think when either side wants to keep their "faithful" engaged, enraged, and ready to do battle, they'll say things like, "I think the <other side> is going to win." I noticed FNC, for example, showing all these ABC/WAPO news polls showing the Hildebeast "ahead...", etc. to keep the faithful conservatives stoked up. If all they do is say "Trump is ahead/Trump is going to win," etc., then maybe the faithful will start to get complacent and not go to the polls to vote.

Gotta keep that pressure on! :insane: :D

Agreed......they keep asking what Trump can do to win Florida and he is leading Hillary already.....lotsa hype

so Cruz didn't honor his pledge to endorse the republican candidate. my God! must be the first time a politician has ever done something like that!

i'll admit it would have been better if he had endorsed Trump but I don't blame him for not doing so. if it were you up there and Trump said the same things to you and your family in public and who knows what in private are you telling me you could easily go out there and start kissing Trumps ass like all those other spineless politicians just because he's the chosen one? at no point you wouldn't take it personally?

Cruz is pretty smart and knew full well what he was getting into when he decided not to back Trump. least he has the balls to stand his ground.

none of it matters anyway because as a country we're screwed either way. Trump is our Obama and if he does get elected he's just going to do whatever he wants. which considering he and his family are actually democrats means probably more of what we've had for the past 8 years.

he'll get my vote but only because he is the lesser of two evils. I'd rather smear my d*ck in honey and stick it down a badger hole than give Hillary my support.

Let's remember that Cruz was first to attack Melania Trump, then Trump kicked Cruz's family's ass in retaliation. And no, I wouldn't take it personally. There is life, then there is politics/business. If a person cannot separate the two they do not belong in the game. If I got butthurt and shot myself in the foot every time I took a business asswhoopin' over the years, instead of learning from it, I would be a flop today...like Cruz is. We are supposed to be fighting for a greater cause than anything name calling should inhibit. As a group we need to stay focused on the prizes, The White House and Supreme Court.

I don't have a problem with Cruz not endorsing Trump, I do have a problem with him not endorsing the Republican candidate at the Republican convention! The convention needed that big unity swing that Hillary got when Hillary and Bernie took the stage together.

I would ask Cruz who he is voting for. Because I see Democrats united behind Hillary and a United party stands a much better chance of winning the election. So if Cruz is not voting for Trump then he may as well be supporting Hillary.

Perty much. I voted for Cruz in the primary, but wish he'd either endorsed Trump or just stayed home, because Trump is the only horse we have to ride. No sense shootin' it

you mean that near nude photo the anti-trump super PAC "Make America Awesome" used to target Mormon voters?

that's right. and in a perfect world it would happen. but it never will. why? because no politician past, present or future has ever put all personal feelings aside for the greater good. in the end they are all corruptible to their own wants and feelings.(just like everyone else) We the People just have to choose who will screw us over the least. America chose wrong when they picked Trump.

Ok, so what. I voted for Cruz over Rubio because I thought Cruz had a better chance of beating Trump. In November I will vote Trump just to vote against Hillary. I don't have to be on the Trump bandwagon to vote for him. I just don't want Hillary.

"so what" is it's sad to see so much of the Right fooled by trumps sweet words and promises. like I said he's our Obama and a lot of folks will learn that the hard way if he gets elected.

he will still get my vote though and I certainly hope I'm wrong in my predictions. only time will tell.

I genuinely want a great leader to rise. I don't see anyone great that stands a chance to defeat Hillary I hope the next 4 years gives rise to a great leader and Constitutionalists will take office for 8 years beyond 2020.

Fact check is right up there with Snopes...horse dung.....You honestly think Trump didn't have the truth in hand? Jeez....

I live in a business world. I have no friends in business, and I can easily separate the two. Not so easy for a younger man who isn't seasoned...like Cruz.

What exactly does Trump have to gain by screwing over America? Remember, if he screws up royally his kids have to live with that for a generation. Actually longer than that. And he loves his family, he isn't about to screw them.

Cruz never had a chance at beating Trump. Cruz is a whiny complainer. No whiny complainer could ever compete with a seasoned person like Trump.

I have met Trump. He is nothing like the man you see on TV. At all. You need to remember, if America doesn't do well neither do his companies. He has thousands times more at stake here than all the other candidates put together.

I could keep arguing my point to you Joe but I feel like I do when I argue with a Liberal. in the end it's just wasted breath on my part.

I will say this, if Trump gets elected and after a few years it turns out I'm wrong in my predictions you and everybody else on the Trump bandwagon can feel free to say "i told you so" every chance ya'll get. but if I'm right i'm never going to let you forget it. perhaps i'll have others send "zane Was right" for me in the form of a group text.

have a nice day.:toast:

I fail to see how this helps defeat the Hildebeast. Seriously Joe, get a grip and move on to the General. Cruz lost, why stir up things between conservatives and Republicans NOW?

Focus your wrath on the enemy!

Thank You, Thank You, and Thank You again......

A group of five of us friends have taken the stance that we will in fact mimick liberals, but as Republicans. In this case it worked. We are pounding anything that is not pro Trump and refuse to hear anything anyone else has to say. It is a conscious effort at being so totally one sided that only what I say and believe in matters. It has worked for liberals for decades, while we Conservatives mostly complain and lose ground slowly. Conservatism is losing in America, something has to be tried, so we chose to take the liberalism effect and reverse it with Conservative values.
Got under your skin, right?
