It does not mean I have to answer their questions or engage in discussion. I always reserve the right to shut up.

My understanding is that it's a hollow victory. They can ask, but you can simply refuse to answer. They aren't permitted to draw any conclusion from your refusal to answer, nor put any indication on your records, as such. I guess we'll see how that shakes out.

Then again, you can always "Just say no!" :D

And patients can lie all they want

Me: when was the last time you blew a midget cowboy?
Doctor: I'm offended, and has nothing to do with this appointment

Exactly. Can't speak about Florida with all the New Yorkers and Jerseyites that move there for retirement... but here in Tennessee, I'd have to be a bit more polite. Why? She/He might just want to see my EDC and compare it to theirs. Almost everyone here in middle TN has a gun.

So maybe.... if SHE (My Doc) asks about my guns, I'll say...

"I'll show you mine if you show me yours"

They can ask, I don't have to answer truthfully or at all.

It was all in the delivery and attitude because I knew where it was headed. I sensed that she was liberal anti-gun.
When asked, I answered "a house full." She looked shocked then asked if I was a cop and my answer was "Yes, but what does it matter. It's my right!"
It got the point across.

Well here in SD doctors don't have to ask...because EVERYBODY carries a gun.

Glad I don't have to deal with any of that nonsense, but, if I did, I'd use pigs response.

Mine has not asked but, if he does I'm also saying "a house full". Or pigs "kiss my ass".

Never had one ask but our peditrition did give me a firearm safety handout. Said they were giving them to all the patients parents. Never been asked by any doctors.

As far as if it were MY doctor:

Doctor- Do you have any firearms?

Me in an exam gown- On me?
