My new .45 ACP
Hello gang,
I just picked up a new .45. This one happens to be a rifle, here are a couple of photos. http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/j...hompson-01.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/j...hompson-02.jpg I've not yet had a chance to get to the range, I'll post a range report and more/better photos after I get to the range. Very nice, what brand is it??:)
|
It's a new AO (Kahr Arms). I orderd it from Buds.
|
OK thanks, it really looks very nice!!:)
I will have to check into them. |
That's pretty sweet! I was considering one of those a few weeks back. My local gunshop has the Thompson on sale for $1349. through February. I like it!

|
Now that is cool! But I will take mine in a 9 please.... .45 is to expensive to shoot!:D

Nice! I have my MG license and as soon as I hit the lottery, that's one of the first autos I'm gonna buy.

That looks like a very fun way to hit the ROI on a Dillon , real fast!
:D |
I've been wanting one of these for decades, just never could justify it to myself.
Then I heard about this group. I've been involved in CAS for almost a decade and finding out about this was the last straw. I already had the pistol (Colt Gov. MKIV S70, made in 1978) covered. I'd post a shot of it, but I cannot find the ones I though I had. I'll post a few when I get a chance to take a few. As it turns out, this pistol would also qualify. http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/j...ltherPPweb.jpg It's a Walther PP in .32 ACP. Cheers Vernon |
Very nice I have always wanted one.

Are you involved in the AZSA? There is a group in the Renton area, scroll to the bottom of the link. I'm working on getting a group started here in Indiana. |

Not familiar with that group. |
I finally had a chance to get to the range today. My time was limited, I only put 100 rounds through the 1927a1. Functioning was flawless, not one failure of any type. The rifle was shooting 10 inches low at 25 yards using the basic sight with the ladder folded down. Using the ladder sight at 100 yards, I was able to pick off pieces of clay birds that someone had left on the backstop. All shooting was off hand.
I did not try the drum, I did not take the time to load it. I expect to get to the range again this weekend and should have a good bit more time. Vernon |
Nice! As an aside, my buddy sent his out to Kahr (new owners of Thompson)to have some work done on his, and they butchered it. The front sight roll pin was enlarged, and there were burrs around the hole which weren't even re-blued. The rear sight originally had period correct screws and they were replaced with new domed hex head screws. His stock was ill-fitting and loose. It looked as if a ham & egger did the work. Needless to say, he will be forwarding a nastygram voicing his displeasure!
