FNG in Western Washington
About myself. Retired from the workplace (finally). Retired Military as well. Live in Northwest Washington, far as I can get from Seattle and not be living in Canada. Interests......Well, there's guns, then more guns and......I smoke meat to the delight of many....Turned a hobby into a part-time job, I have Range Officer duties out at the "Club" on the weekends to help make sure the masses don't "accidentally" shoot each other. Can it get any better than that? Recently discovered the joys of reloading and have observed that there are not enough hours in the day to do all the things that are "now" important.
My buy-in to this elite group is a Dan Wesson CBOB, Shell Casing Collected: 6/05/08. Serial Number: C805XXCZ on May 14, 2012. As soon as I find the correct forum, I'll post more details about a problem I've encountered. |
Welcome Dave to Our Little Forum...................

Almost hesitant to ask, but never afraid to make the sacrifice for the cause: Uh, just what is a "Mimber"?

Namvets personal dislike of kimbers. As they seem to be one of the first 1911 style pistols newbs purchase, he nicknamed new member mimbers. apparently it can be removed by posting photos of your DW in the DW photo thread.
Welcome, recent seattle transplant. Are you in blaine or bellingham |
Welcome aboard!

Welcome and shoot straight!

The only picture you'll get in the next two weeks or so is a disassemble while awaiting some parts. Nothing major, I like to think of it as routine maintenance that wasn't performed correctly by previous owners or perhaps too much stone. Whatever, a good friend is helping me restore the CBOB to correct function. The problem is posted in a thread over in the Dremel forum. I'm about 20 miles south of the border, in Bellingham. I work as a backup Range Officer out at Custer Sportsmen Club on the weekends and vacation fill-ins, just south of Blaine---so you had me figured out. Did I happen to mention it's good to be retired? I don't call the weekend work really "work". Just signing up potential new members, making sure everyone is safe on the front line, participating in serious and not so serious discussions of whatever happens to capture our attention at the moment. Others might call these :bs: sessions. Knew I could work that little fella into the thread, somehow. If you're ever up this way, with an urge to try a different range, drop on by, we may not be the fanciest range but we're sure dang friendly. grouphug Well, maybe not guite that friendly. ~Dave |
