A compact round butt

AutoMag was generous enough to send me a mainspring housing for my CCO build....so I figured I would put a few pics up of what I did with it. Thanks alot John:stand:

I still need to finish sanding and blending the sides, but I think I have the rounded-butt where I want it

I like that... nice job. What kind of finish are you going to put on it when you're done?

Hoss in IL 05-09-2011 10:48 PM

Man, that looks good Lonnie. Did you do all of the work with files and sand paper?

Thanks Hoss! Yep, a few hand files and sandpaper...I was leary to tackle this because of the compound radius, but am pleased with the results

Awsome Job

Wow. Ive been thinking of doing tgis same project on my new S/A 1911-CCO. being brushed steel and flat matte itll be easy to keep tge finish lookin great. Although after Im done doing all the "Mods" Im havin done to it, Im going to have it refinished entirely in What Springfields Custom Shop calls "beadblasted Matte Finish" its like te matte finish on the older smith & wessons 49xx,59xx,45xx series firearms. I like tge brushed stainless look but too much to take care of wiping off fingerprints, oils, fixing fine scratcges n such. So i have always liked that blasted flat stainless look and finish. Anyways. Like the rounded butt look. U did a great job on the aesthetics of it visually making it appealing to the eyes to look at. Job well done. Lemme know when i can send u mine so ucan get more practice time in buahahahhaa.
