I am working hard to get my stuff in one small bag by 6 Oct so I can participate in my first CAS event. Here are two picsof my personal gear. More pics of other equipment will be added over the next few days.

Shotgun: The Stoeger is a model 31460 single trigger shotgun in 12ga, all blue with fixed chokes on 20” barrels, with complete GAA CAS Action work including honed chambers, beveled chamber mouths, safety set mod, spring tuning, break-lock relief, open position ext, and large .175 brass front bead . Revolver 1: An Uberti, SA revolver in 45LC. It is true to the Colt SAA with a half cock to load teh weapon and 3 dsitinct clicks when cocking the weapon.. Finishis matte black, fixed sights, and 4 3/4" barrel. Revolver 2: A Ruger New Vaquero in 45LC. Loading is accomplished by opening the loading gate rather than half cock in the Colt design It is SS and has a 5 1/2" barrell. That's the weapon run down. I'm on the lookout for a true Colt SAA at a price I can afford. Everyone should own at least 1 real Colt if you are in this game. Hat: Texas Hatters of Lockhart TX, formerly of Budda TX. A gift in 1996 from the Men of 1-4 Attk Bn upon my dparture. They must have beenn really happy to see me go. :) Thanks for asking! Mike |
nice set up...love all the black too!

Today's installment is my cart. It's commercially cut and I put it together. Not a perfect job but I did it. I chose to get itunfinished so I could match it to my ammo box purchased separately at less than half a cost of a box from the cart manufacturer. So here it is in several stages.
Here it is apart in various stages of finishing. http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps412df3e5.jpg All finished, ready to assemble http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps246bd956.jpg And the finished and assembled cart. http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/t...psd634ea75.jpg http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps699dec05.jpg Next installment will be the ammo box. Nice Cart Col.

Today we feature the ammo box. I orderred one from Walmart and did (SGM did) some artwork on it. Here are the pictures:
http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/t...mmoboxammo.jpg Every ammo box should have ammo. I use only 45LC and 12g. This makes logistics easier. 45LC loads are custom for CAS loaded by a CAS shooter in S FL, Jack Hill. He is also a great gunsmith. http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/t...moboxfront.jpg I like deer so I left this on the box. Not exactly in period but I like it. http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/t...oboxtopsgm.jpg My alias is from an 1860s CSA unit from our town, The Eufaula Rifles. The SGM added some very nice artwork to my box. I think she did a great job. Next installment will be first week of October after my first competition. Hope you enjoyed the pics. |
Now, that is one fine looking box........If you now add a set of glasses, ear protection, short 45 cal. rod (just incase you get a squib), and a small screw driver, you will be all set.
The SGM did a GREAT paint job on the box (you should have let her paint the cart:wave: Now you are ready, to go and have some fun, Stay safe and enjoy Gary |
Looks great Mike!!:)

Very Nice Col,
Clyde |
I seen the art work in person yesterday and it looks better in person, SGM did a great job.
On a funny note, I was kidding with the Col, as i was walking up to his house i didn't see the box lid on the ground and stepped on it, he chuckled and then SGM came back from a walk and he told her, Her reply was "Step on it and I'll beat you" Col and SGM are GOOD PEOPLE. |
Cool beans Col.!
|
Great stuff Mike!
