Dan Wesson Guardian - Barrel Scratches

Attached is a picture of my brand new Guardian after 50 rounds downrange. Notice the barrel scratches visible through the ejection port. Is this normal (gun/barrel was cleaned and lubed with Militec-1 before range session). Thanks for your input.

Trying to upload JPEG without success (400 x 267 and 10kb)? Any advice?

Yes,

Step 1 - Open an online photo hosting account like Photobucket or Snapfish.

Step 2 - Upload your photos from your pc or laptop to the new account.

Step 3 - Copy the "IMG CODE" - for Photobucket, it's the 4th code located under the pic.

Step 4 - Paste the copied code into your thread/post.

Goodluck

I learned from this one

Pokerplayer,

I don't need the pics to help out on this one. If you call DW you'll be told that the scratches you're seeing are normal operation, and are the result of the very very close tolerances when fitting the barrel to the slide. At least that's what they told me on the same concern for my CCO.... Now.... I wasn't sure I believed that... soooooo.... I called someone I trust (Severns Custom in Nevada). Same response.

On the Brighter side of things: What I did was shoot a couple hundred rounds, then polished the barrel at the ejection port opening. Problem solved for me.

OH... one other thing. Once you've shot your new Guardian, there are NO amount of barrel scratches that are going to make you sell her.

Hope this helps.

Normal.

Thank you everyone for the prompt responses and newbie instructions on how to post pictures. Much appreciated. After a couple hundred rounds (as suggested above) I am going to have the barrel jewelled to address the scratches.

Any scratches on a new gun make you sick - whether they're normal or defective. Bottom line just keep shooting.
