Flashlight
Help! What is the ideal flashlight to keep with your nightstand gun? Brand, model, functions, lumens, etc.
Thanks! Jim |
I have a Fenix PD32 Compact, 315 lumens, LED $50 from Amazon by my bed, wifey carries one in her purse and I carry one on me. Bright as heck, reasonable too.

Jim, you're likely to get as many different answers as replies. There are lots of good ones out there.
I have carried a Nitecore EX11 V2. for a couple years now. Small, lightweight, VERY bright, indestructible. I have one on me at all times, and one in my nightstand. I've owned a bunch. YMMV Hope it helps, Tom |
I use an ASP Triad 2 cell.:)
But like Tom said, you will get probably a different answer from everyone that answers!! |
That flashlight app on my iphone. Haha, I carry a Streamlite that I've had for years.
|
I have a sure fire on my glock and love it I am sure there lights are as good as it.
I carry a streamlight defender adn that is super good. takes those funny little batteries though... |
|
I used to use the Streamlight SL, as my duty light, then went to the Streamlight Stinger, then went to the even smaller Sure-Fire 6Z. Still have them and they've all served me well.
|
I keep a couple of Surefires in my truck, I just bought this Fenix to try something different. It will stay beside my bed.

I was able to pick up several of the Fenix PD10's 1 cr123a 180 lumens. Picked them up for $24.99 each. I use Surefire's for my primary and the Fenix as backup."Two is one, one is none".
|
I have 3 Surefire's
L2 Digital LumaMax dual brightness $150 + This is my main Nightstand Light and have 2 6P's |
I have a 3 cell mag light in the cubby of the headboard...can't "whack" someone with a itty, bitty flash light...:D

That way they don't have to get so close I can smell 'em. |

Down here in the south we can USE our WEAPONS to defend ourselves. And like Boats said "Whack'em" with some 230gr |
I keep both a Surefire Executive-Elite E1E and a 3-D cell Maglight on the nightstand.
|
Right now, I've got a Malkoff MD2 with high low ring and M61N engine, an Elzetta ZFL-M60 with two level tailcap and another Malkoff M61N, and a Surefire E2L Outdoorsman with Valiant Concepts VME head housing a Malkoff M61 219 engine sitting on my night stand.
Oh ya, I almost forgot the Surefire Z2 with Malkoff M61L 219 engine that's sitting there also, but needs to be moved back to the top of the gun safe. I'd highly suggest any of these, plus Surefire's 6P (mine are all weapon mounted), C2, 9P (weapon mounted), and several durable Chinese lights. Ya, lights are another one of my hobbies. Grizz |
"Two is one, one is none".[/QUOTE]
I agree. And very bright is a good thing too. |
I have an old hurricane lantern and a hand grenade. Strike a match or pull a pin, I'll light 'em up one way or the other funny
