Howdy All!

Yes, I am from Connecticut. Land of steady habits. And home to Colt Firearms, Marlin, Winchester, Sturm Ruger, Mossberg, U.S. Firearms, Stag Arms (moving), PTR (moving), General Electric, jet engines, helicopters, clocks, shade tobacco, insurance, and inane firearm laws.

I have a special fondness for John Browning's designs. I personally feel the M1911 is a masterpiece of ingenuity, design, and technology for that time, and for all time.

I have a few of his designed combat pistols, and after stumbling onto this forum, I thought I would at least say hello, since I have two V-Bobs that I am smitten with.

Evidently, this forum started with discussions about and for the Dan Wesson M1911. I will be hanging around from time to time, if you don't mind, to glean insight from the membership, that's you folks. Thank-you for the opportunity.

DeFadda, I'm up north of you in Simsbury. I am a member of the Hartford Gun Club, it's the oldest in the nation. That's where I attempt to hone my meager sharpshooting, and skeet skills. Come to think of it, we've got a lot of old stuff around these parts...Mark Twain, and just north of me, The Springfield Armory.

I have an old and close friend in Simsbury who is heavily involved with the Boy Scouts. He is also something of a firearms fan.

I'm not sure, I moved here seventeen years ago, but my sons were beyond the boy scouts by then. There are only a couple of ranges in the area, Metacomet, and the Hartford Gun Club. I am a member of the HGC.

If he plays golf in Simsbury, I will most likely have heard of him. (Golf, another of my "Hobbies")

I am currently knee deep in skip-checkering an M14 walnut stock. I do a bit of simple gunsmithing during the wintertime.
