Prayers Needed
Friends...This forum has proven the power of prayer more times than I can recount now I am asking for another season of prayer. On Tuesday my 96 year old next door neighbor and friend was at his horse farm, about an hour up the road, and fell. He fractured his pelvis in two places. He has been discharged from the hospital and is in a rehab facility.
My neighbor, Colonel John B. is a 3 war veteran having served in the Med during WW2. He was part of the Operation Torch (Invasion of North Africa), Husky (Sicily) and landed at Anzio to support the break out, He was serving in a separate tank battalion. Eventually as Battalion commander he took the surrender of the German 12Th Army Group (I think) near Lake Como. After WW2 he went into army aviation and served in Korea, where while flying an artillery spotting mission was shot down and nearly captured. He was in Vietnam before we were there traveling on a civilian passport prior to the days of MACV. He was the primary author of the Air Mobile Doctrine that was used there. He has purple hearts from all three wars. He is almost completely blind from macular degeneration. All of this is to say this tough old bird is not dealing well with his injury and incapacitation. He needs our prayers and good wishes for recovery and being able to return home and eventually back to his horse farm. Please keep Colonel John B in your prayers |

Update-
Colonel John B is not doing particularly well. He transitioned a week ago this past Friday to a rehab facility. When I stopped by to see him this afternoon he was not there. His room mate said they had taken him to the E-Room earlier. Apparently he had a blood clot let go or a TIA. Vitals are stable, he has a touch of pneumonia. I sat with him for about an hour his thoughts are confused and speech even slower than it was. At this time I am not particularly hopeful about his return home. Continue to keep Colonel John B. in prayer. |

Prayers are obviously working. This time yesterday I was expecting to hear that Colonel John B had passed. I visited him earlier this evening and he looks remarkably better. He is still somewhat confused and off point but the speech patterns, color and respiration are all much much better. Keep the prayers coming.
