Rock Island Customer Service
A couple of you know that I've been terribly frustrated trying to get through to Armscor for the past week and a half. Some days no answer, others a steady busy signal, unreturned messages, etc ... a real let down to say the least :(
Well, today I'm pleased to report that I finally got through and while the work has yet to be done I was really impressed with the two folks I spoke with! Ryan in CS and Shawn in the shop were both very helpful and patient as I asked all my questions and got the details squared away. Fed Ex is supposed to be coming tomorrow with a label to send the gun in for a few mods. I'll report back when the gun is returned but I'm told that despite running full steam right now, they'll have my gun back to me inside of two weeks. I'm getting a GI trigger and thumb safety installed and having the billboard 'blued' down by Shawn. Including $25 shipping send it to them the price is going to come in just shy of $100. My faith in them is renewed and if all goes according to plan I'll be a very satisfied customer! |
I believe their shop is a small shop...prolly too busy fixin' guns to answer the phones much. Me, I'm gonna blame John (Automag) just coz I can :p
|
Cool, can't wait to see how it turns out.

Good deal Matt, I am glad that you finally got through.
Shawn is actually one of the gunsmiths there and is a very good one at that. Things at the warehouse have been a little hectic lately with all of the shows and then SHOT Show. I believe that in January alone there are about 5 different shows in that many different cities that they attend. Mike, I did not do it and besides you gotta have a witness!!!!:D |
I'll pay Ellison to be a witness..he'll do anything for rice and a banana :p

Update
Two weeks ago I sent it back to have them replace the trigger and thumb safety with their GI parts. They also adjusted the front sight, dulled down the billboard and tuned it!
Shipping, parts and labor cost less than a local gunsmith quoted for labor alone! Moreover, since they did the work with their parts my warranty is 100% intact. I'm a happy guy :D |
Where the heck are the pics? Its in your contract you signed when you joined, to post pics!
funny Ok, maybe not but just saying. |

I've been able to add other pics but it won't take this one. I tried three different times. If it's not frowned upon I could attach the link to the pic from "that other site" all us FLOTEP folks keep coming from :D |

Zane can definetely spruce it up some more with his great grips. I have 2 pair on order for my Baer that's coming. Congrats on the Rock. |
Matt, don't know if you saw my question. But, didn't you say they were going to de-bilboard the slide? Or just tone it down?
