Hello everyone,

Just ordered my first 1911 today, a Dan Wesson Valor Stainless Steel and I couldn't be happier (until I take delivery:D). I do most of my shooting on my family's property where we have mostly shot skeet but recently started with handguns a bit more. I am looking to join a couple shooting leagues to keep me busy over the winter months and to help me become more familiar with my new weapon. Can't wait to talk with everyone and learn from your collective wisdom.

Also, I am curious about the COTEP #'s, how do I go about getting one and a membership card?

curious about a COTEP number? what you don't like how it says Mimber Lover under your name haha. :) there is a thread floating around here on how to become a COTEP member. its easy to do. there are a lot of great people here in these parts. i think you'll like it. hope to see you around

Been really busy this week so I haven't been on here at all but I got the call from my FFL today, my baby has arrived...Can't wait to go pick up my valor tomorrow!:D

looks great. what's your first thoughts on it? how does it feel, fit, finish?

Feels great, the fit and finish are second to none. Actually feels weighted and balanced better than any other handgun I've had the pleasure of holding. Only thing I am a little hesitant on is the grips but those can be changed quite easily. Other than that, I can't wait to get to the range!:)
