Multiple pistol carry cases

Does anybody use or know of a hard side case which is capable of holding 6-12 pistols and mags that does not cost $300. To be used for range trips and/or bug out.. (Pelicans are too bloody expensive)

Suggestions are appreciated...

Does it have to be lockable?

You can have it, I removed the foam pieces and re-inserted the heli foam bits. I don't know how much it would cost to ship it to you but, if interested...let me know. You can get the foam at any hardware store that sells insulation, then cut to fit.

AutoMag 04-16-2014 09:34 PM

I know that you said that Pelican were too expensive but they are probably the best for transport and protection.

I have quite a few Pelican cases, everything from a laptop case to a rolling rifle case.

I appreciate the offer. Need to go on a foam hunt now.

I use a DragoGear rifle double rifle bag. I can bring the AR and all my handguns and magazines with it.

You would get an answer there. Just half of the people would be telling you that you were wrong because it technically isn't covered specifically in 790. Then the other half would wonder why you hate the government.

just kidding...I got nothing.

But I do have a Pelican case that I need to get new foam for. Damn foam is expensive. But when done, it should hold 6 pistols easily. Whenever I get around to redoing it. Not a high priority right now.

Maybe I should put the case up for karma?

Sheepdog 04-17-2014 12:08 AM

Here is one, about the same price as Pelican. Made by Case Cruiser. They make different sizes up to six.

Check this page out. They have allot of pelican type cases SKB and others that are cheaper than pelican.

Americase will make you whatever you want. They are aluminum and waterproof. You can run over them with a truck. Don't ask how I know.

Xbonz 04-17-2014 08:15 AM

Thanks all. Have to go find some foam and see about constructing one ....

I did sign up at DVor... Might find something there..

Xbonz 04-17-2014 09:19 AM

You can also get foam at Walmart, in the craft section, or and Hobby store. The real good stuff, sleeping grade, is at surgical supply stores.

I am giving a look at this NRA pistol travel case.... http://www.nrastore.com/nrastore/Pro...?p=SA+494&ct=e

funny, I can get six pistols, 12 mags and a bakers dozen in there...and the guns smell awesome when the jelly oozes out on the gun, when you shoot the hot jelly on a gun tastes amazing! Bad thing is I keep putting holes in my hats!

I like the NRA case.

You can also get good foam at stores like Michael's or JoAnn's.

I'm not sure if you pulled the trigger or not, but if not I saw a vendor at the West Palm gun show that had several cases that would work. They were selling their six gun cases at 2 for $80. The name was FrontlineSteelUSA. They are based in Port St. Lucie but will ship. Contact is [email protected]. They said they would email you photos if you want.

Awesome. Thanks.. Will send them an email.

Xbonz 04-25-2014 12:35 PM

Received my case from frontlinesteelusa today. First impressions:(: I must quit being so cheap. Smaller than expected, cheap Chinese aluminum, thin egg crate foam. Will post more later with pics, when I get home and can play with it...

edgehill 04-25-2014 03:21 PM

Sorry about that. They didn't look too bad for the price at the show.

Not your fault, so no reason to apologize. Not going to pass complete judgment until I've had a chance to play w/ it.
