Good morning, COTEP Crew, from the good ol' Panhandle of Florida. I have been an active member of another gun forum for many years, but grew tired of the cop bashing and other nonsense. Riverpigusmc invited me to take a look at COTEP, and I'm glad he did. This looks like a fun forum and good folks.

I've never owned a DW, and I've only owned one 1911 in my life, so I don't think I'll be able to contribute much in those categories. I'm a Glock guy since 1990 (I know, I know) so I'm looking forward to having fun and learning a lot on this forum.

Thanks for the welcome, Doc. Even though I really enjoy shooting 1911's, they are not second nature for me. So for self defense purposes, I stick with a platform that is as familiar to me as breathing. I've tried many times to get away from Glocks because, let's face it, they are boring. No external safeties, the same trigger pull over and over and over again, no de-cockers, etc. Other guns can be more fun to shoot at the range, but if the world turned to sheet in an instant, I'd go to the platform that I have hundreds of thousands of rounds through. Nothing bad intended about any of the other fine handguns out there, I just do better with my tupperware.
