There She Was!

Hanging on the back wall of my favorite gun shop! A Springfield M1A Loaded. I picked it up and caressed it like a long lost love. My mind was flooded with memories of the M-14 that was my T/O weapon in the Marine Corps. Strange how a man can love a hunk of steel and wood, a cold inanimate object. I had to have it! I bought it. Ironic that this should happen on Veterans Day, 11/11/11. (Hey, I needed to buy myself a birthday present anyway)

I'll have to break out the digital camera, but first I have to clean her up from the factory coatings.

Okay here's what I was able to get photos of. I'm no professional and I don't have lenses for my pocket camera. Haven't taken her out to the range yet. I'm trying to score some 20 round mags from a friend of mine. Still gotta get me some ammo too. Most ammo suppliers won't ship to Mass. Guess that means a road trip up to New Hampshire where the folks Live Free or Die!

Beautiful rifle. Wood and steel, I still think is the best. Thanks for sharing your pictures.:)

Excellent.

It looks like the wood's got some nice figure to it also.

i actually joined a gunclub last year, because i had decided to get me one of those M1a's.

But because the 100 meter range was out, and i needed to rack up some time @ the club before i can buy, i started shooting pistol at 25 meters.. which lead to me buying the PM7 couple of months ago.

So next on the list would be that m1a.
But since importing rifles is a royal pain in the @ss.. i have to buy what i can find... And M1a's i can find are extremely expensive.. you can take the USD value you guys pay, and pretty much double it.

So it won't be for right now... just got me the dillon xl650 to make sure the PM7 ammo remains affordable :D
It's a slippery slope and i'm going downhill fast.
