good tips....

You will be treated like a criminal..that is an important one to remember....Cops don't know who did what so everyone will be put in custody until its sorted out.

I'm don't see myself putting the gun on the ground. I think I would holster, leaving my hands in plain sight when LEO's arrive. I would apply life saving procedures if applicable.

Personally I wouldn't touch anyone I had to shoot.

Keep him alive and he will sue you for shooting him.
He could sue you if you goof up and he is paralyzed.
He could have diseases.
You could be bent over him trying to help and be mistaken for an aggressor.

You shot him, I doubt it was to save him.
