New Dan Wesson

Here ya go, got this on my facebook......

You've asked for it, so here's a little teaser of one of the new Dan Wesson models we'll be debuting at the 2015 SHOT Show. A bit of ECO, a bit more CCO and some flair all of its own, the Dan Wesson Valkyrie is our answer to customer requests for a CCW with that sticks in the hand but disappears easily for carry. A Commander-length slide makes for an accurate and reliable package, while the 25 LPI-checkered Officer frame secures it firmly in the hand. Watch for more info on the Valkyrie this January at SHOT Show.

Oh, my. Love my DW ECO, first for its looks, then its performance. Thanks for the heads up. I like this one, too.

RKP 10-28-2014 01:40 PM

Very interesting ! .... a friend of mine sent me the same info/heads up on this.

Awesome, can't wait.

Pros: the "hi power" cuts

Cons: stainless hammer, bushing and spring plug on an all blacked out gun :facepalm2:

I can accept the hammer, but the other two?

Looks nice but I like my CCO without the high power treatment.

RKP 10-30-2014 10:53 PM

Keith said that for custom orders next year, he can also do the Valkyrie in:
9mm
38 Super
40
You will need magazines for the .38 and .40
The pricing will be close to the Valor price but you are also getting more custom features with a Valkyrie than a Valor. Fit, finish and parts are all the same.

I vote with you, but my vote is for functionability. I have see a slew of guys at self defense classes have to drop their mag and rack the slide in a malfunction drill, have their hand slip off the slide while racking a round. Meanwhile I was putting multiple rounds on target. Long story short, in a gunfight, they shot shot. My guns have functions. Some are pretty, but they all works for defensive tactics. If I want something flat and shiny I'll go outside and wax a fender on my truck. If I want a 1911 that I can manipulate efficiently to keep me alive, it will have slide cuts.

Any MSRP numbers for this one?

Getting close to an Ed Brown in price, which I cannot justify for a production gun. yes, I own an ECO having sold the EB in favor.

dw1911 12-04-2014 09:30 PM

They won't be selling for MSRP. Not at most Dealers. I am betting they'll be around $1700.00-1800.00

sdmc530 12-04-2014 09:42 PM

I love that cut on the slide, very cool but Ell is right, should be ALL black....really like that cut though...very sweet.

titanse05 12-04-2014 09:53 PM

I'm a fan of the high power cuts on the slide. Not going to give up the ECO that I intend to carry my entire life. Lol
