2nd USPSA match
 

Well folks, its been 2 months since I became eligible to shoot comps and today was match #2. I tool a lot from the first one and slowed waaaaay down today and guess what? Yep, accuracy improved.

There were some interesting stages. Having to open doors, go through a turnstyle that trips swinging targets, etc. I've never shot a pistol from the prone position before. I learned a valuable lesson about running and jumping to the ground prone and that is you don't have to jump from 4 feet in the air and try to land in the prone position, "things tend to get smashed" if you know what I mean!

Plus I had ton of good coaching from the squad I shot with. Out of about 25 shooters, 2 of us were production and the rest Limited or Open. Even shot with a 10 yr old and a 14 yr old. Both kids have been at it for 4-6 yrs. These kids have the most tricked out Open guns I've seen yet. Must be nice!

57 A's and 24' C's not bad, slow down and you'll get more A's and B's 1 Mike not bad at all.

Hang on there, pardner...... Boy Scouts ain't no cup o' tea. You gots me whipped, all I do is Little League...that whole Scout thing done ran me off.

Dang, there's hope for me yet. Been a Scoutmaster for 4 years and counting. Lots of years as an ASM before that.

Great shooting in that video and an inspiration for me to try to make 2015 the year I actually get to do some comp shooting (IDPA or USPSA), with slightly different goals in mind; not winning, just something more fun than the square range experience but with a mind's eye toward keeping the negative training for SD at bay. :D

Now if you would only grow up and put on some Cowboy Duds, a big HAT and a few six shooters, pick up for 18.5" double or 97 Pump and an 73 Lever Action you can relive the day of yesterdayyer!

Cowboy shooting is a lot of fun and we do not have to roll around on the ground (plus our stages are prettier :facepalm::party::canoon:


And if you really want some fun, get a DA revolver and come and shoot some ICORE Revolver matches with us..
