S&W 986 9mm & Eotech

Well just can not leave well enough alone and I decided that the fastest way to get on target and go to the next is to use an Eotech.
After talky to their Tech's, they suggested the XPS2.0 at 8 oz., it is vert easy to handle.
It is mounted on a Custom mount and will be sighted in Sunday.
Range report to follow

Not for the first time I am sure that I am the last to know. What is an Eotech and what is the purpose? Thank you for the enlightenment. Nice looking wheel gun.

Thanks

From the EoTech website

Holographic Sight Vs. Red Dot Sight
The holographic weapon sight is optically, electronically, and otherwise superior to red dot sights. The two types of sight differ in optical performance and construction.

The HWS has...

A 65 MOA ring with a 1 MOA dot, the finest dot available in any optic. It provides an optimal compromise between speed and accuracy
A tubeless, heads-up display window that provides an unlimited field of view, allows operators to maintain critical peripheral vision for engaging multiple-threat situations
State-of-the-art technology proven to deliver far superior target acquisition speed
In contrast, the red dot style sight is 30-plus-year-old technology with very little enhancement.

Hope this helps

I've have had five Eotech's on various AR's before I settled on an ACOG.The most effective use of one(for me) was by using the one with the ballistic reticle paired with an Eotech 4X Magnifier. It was heavy and semi-bulky,but just hell for accurate, you could do head shots on a full size target at 400 yards easily.

funny funny, laughing at myself. I was trying to figure out the rod looking structure behind the revolver and stand thinking that was something to do with Eotech. Got it. Thanks guys, I am as dumb as I look, honest. Dennis

Thanks Guy's

Anyone who would like to come and shoot the 986 with me just send and email, come down to sunny (Nice and cool) Florida and have some fun.

I would say to bring your own ammo, but I have developed a special load for the gun (all internals have been changed) and the DA on my steel challenge gun is just around 6lbs.

So, I will even supply some ammo for you to shoot.

Hope I can get to the range today to sight in in, but it will be dome by Tuesday and a range report to follow.

We are gonna leave for SC. Do ya think you could just sight it in and drop it off? We could test that beauty to make sure it works in SC? :D

Jeez I love that revolver.

girphoto 12-14-2014 09:16 AM

Well milkman

I think I will not have it sighted in until the day after you leave for SC:D
