New Grip Auditions
I received a couple sets of grips from Cavery that I ordered while out west. Trying them out with different 1911's. I really like the grips but need the right home for them. First try. May be too busy for this gun. Comments appreciated and welcomed. Thanks Dennis

beautiful.....love the thick black "vein"....great marbling
|
They do look nice, not my favorite but very nice. Really like the bluing job though, Super!
|
Too much. It takes away from the frame coloring. For this pistol, I think you need something more subtle. The grips are beautiful, though.
|
I'd go more subtle as well, to showcase the blueing more in contrast

Beautiful grips. But, agree they may be "too much" on this one. Have you got a 1911 with a dark rich bluing? I suspect these grips would look great on something like that. If you don't have one in a dark rich blue, these grips will give you a good reason to go shopping. :D

I agree with the others. Too much with the case coloring..

I appreciate your input and advice and I agree. I do have a Baron high polish blue and a Turnbull polished blue but they both are home to my Dan Chinnock Wooly Mammoth Tooth and Hairless Mammoth tusk slice and they will stay there. Perhaps the new grips will work on one of the others, I will try the mimber Eclipse II. I have decided to install the Charles Spresser elephant ivory I removed for the Mammoth on the color case hardened Professional for now. :) Dennis
