Okay
I have a question for all you members that shoot any type of Competition with a 1911, what does it take to build a Race Gun................... 9mm

It takes a lot of Talent and about $1500-3000:D

Are you wanting a compensator? I'm not a big fan of comped 9mm's. You need to run a really hot load to get the gun to cycle. A couple people at my range shoot 9mm major race gun's but neither is 100%, I have seen them malfunction more then a few times.
You could go without a comp and just lighten the slide, run a light recoil spring 7-8 lbs and light competition main spring with an extended length firing pin. Put a magwell on it and it will be a good budget racer. You would need to reload light loads for it. Felt recoil is almost nothing and just slightly more muzzle flip than a comped gun. This is the 9mm I did for my daughter. http://www.cotep.org/forum/picture.p...1&pictureid=17 Here is a quick clip of her shooting smoke and hope so you can see the recoil. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LP0by8SdvM |
