She and her staff spend two years training each service dog at a cost of roughly $30,000 before it is placed with a Veteran at no cost to the Veteran. The Veterans aren’t the only ones who benefit though as a big part of the dogs training is conducted by prison inmates who are able to use their time to do something positive for someone else. A Friend of mines Brother was locked down 27 years and got into the dog training program There is no doubt that being/working with dogs for most of his Incarceration made His transition to the Real World easier for him
He came out not being like Most institutionalized thinking Parolees
Good for Her helping a worthy cause for Needy Vets
