Just finished my second reading of -------
"Ed McGivern's fast and fancy revolver shooting". Mine is the 85 anniversary edition, 478 pages, hard bound with jacket cover [ getting to be a collector item like the rest of the works from the old masters ]
Ed still holds many speed shooting records for time and accuracy achieved. Like 4/10's of a second putting 5 shots inside a playing card from 15 feet. His aerial shooting prowess records with a revo [ or two ] haven't been broken since the 30's. His timing equipment, though crude for the day, was some of the first science introduced to document his phenomenal speed with pin point accuracy attached. Anyone heard of Ed or read his works? |
Thanks Brownie, looks interesting. :)

Yep, I was in awe of McGivern's feats. He was an instructor for some PDs and the FBI, and he was able to teach people to hit coins tossed in the air. It's one thing when you can do it yourself, it's another thing entirely to teach someone else to do it!

I know of Ed.:) there have been lots of great shooters since Ed but there will never be a better shooter than him.
i'd like to see what he could have done with some of today's handguns. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u97RJQYuiBA |
