Shoot to kill vs shoot to wound
|
Shoot to stop the threat.
|
shoot till they change shape or catch fire
|
I was taught - across the board .... if you're going to do it, do it right, and all the way !
|
Doing it right and saying it right are not the same thing in a court of law. May be best to learn to say "I was in fear for my life and shot to stop the attack", as opposed to "I shot him with hopes of killing him".
JMHO YMMV |
Shoot to kill? Shoot to wound? I was taught: "Shoot to stop the attack." When they stop attacking... you stop shooting. The other thing I was taught: "Don't ever draw your weapon unless failure to fire will result in your or someone you're responsible for's death." That simple truth made the decision to draw or not a "no brainer." (no pun intended)
Have there been times when I wanted to draw? yes... there have been. I didn't, because my life wasn't in danger. When it WAS in danger, yes... I did. Luckily, I didn't have to end someone's life. They threw their gun down and surrendered. May you never be in the position to have to make the decision. It's way too sobering. Michael |

I don't think Fadda is ever wrong. I believe I should upgrade him to be a moderator.

Shoot to STOP the threat....if death comes because of it....well the guy got up
on the wrong side of the bed that morning when he decided to break into somebody's house. |
