How many members have tactical driving skills?

Evasive driving while under attack on the streets. Do you have full command of the vehicle you're driving? I had this filmed in 92, some 11 years after attending counter terr training at SIONICS with Maj Gen Mitch WerBell. Our driving instructor was Bobby Bass, then VP of stunts unlimited in Ca. He's also the driver in every Smokey and the bandit movies for Burt Reynolds.

I may not have "tactical driving skills" taught by a trained professional, but i have common sense and situational awareness when driving.

* I don't drive with tunnel vision, my eyes are always scanning the roadway and surrounding areas. My wife thinks I have ADD because I can drive and look at other things, but I tell her that it's better to drive knowing what's around you than to just focus on the car in front of you.

* At stop lights or stop signs, I leave myself plenty of room from the car in front of me, "an out" if you will in case someone approaches on foot or purposely get bumped from a bad guy from behind.

* I don't go into unfamiliar territories at the wrong hours. If I do have to go into these places, I google surrounding areas so that I have a better idea of the over all area in case I need to make a quick exit.

Bottom line:

* Don't allow yourself to get into bad situations and pay attention. Those two things will prevent most bad things from happening.

Ellison has great points always be aware and have an out.

We call it EVOC Evasive vehicle operations course and its fun as hell. Being in the pit car is a riot for about 4 spins then its puke on the shoes time.

I don't have training in tactical evasion but i do what Ellison mentioned in his post. ALWAYS LEAVE ROOM BETWEEN YOUR CAR AND THE ONE IN FRONT SO YOU CAN GET OUT OF DODGE!
