What is the make of your Garand?

Mine is a Springfield Armory #1544744 which dates to April 1943.
Got it from the CMP as a special grade, new barrel amd mew stock, all other parts original.

That looks like a great range trip.

A friend of mine informed me that the M1A he's been wanting is out of his price range, so he's decided an M1 from the CMP is an acceptable alternate. We'll be driving to the store to choose them (I'll be getting one also) in the Spring.

No, we won't be disappointed at all.

Mine's a 1940 Springfield, and he's shot it a few times.
